About the Show

On June 1, 2019, Cove Street Arts opened with a bang. We were stunned and elated to welcome around 500 comers to our inaugural reception! Less than a year later came a global pandemic, but Cove survived and has been thriving ever since. We're very proud of where the gallery has been and excited for what's next.

To celebrate Cove's fifth birthday (six months late). we've curated a survey exhibition that captures the spirit and mission of the gallery. 5.5 is limited to 22 artists whose work we've previously shown - a small fraction of the number of tremendous artists we've featured - but it's a lineup that reflects Cove's first five years of programming as well as the strength and vitality of Maine contemporary art.
