Kenny Shapiro
Kenny has spent the past two years working as a sculptor and studio assistant for John Bisbee after graduating from Bowdoin College in 2018. He makes formally and materially simple objects through redundant, rote, and ritualistic processes. Slowly layering and tightly bundling materials into form through anxious and fetishtic impulses, he hopes to explore ideas of ancestral memory, asking questions of what is and isn’t encoded in our bodies, and what travels beyond our bodies.
