Variations
Curated by Bruce Brown

April 17 - May 24, 2025
About the Show
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. - Albert Einstein
Einstein's quote is particularly appropriate for the spring season. One could describe spring by its precise climatic changes, the resulting biochemical changes in flora, and their impact on the life cycles of fauna, but such a description would not capture the fact that, in spring, we feel the abundance of life. Almost over night, the landscape is unrecognizably transformed by the endless variations dreamed into existence by biology.
This is why our spring photography show is Variations. Rather than focus on a specific theme, the show, curated by Bruce Brown, showcases variety. From still life to landscape to figurative work, the exhibition celebrates the manifold possibilities presented to a creatively wielded camera.
Featured artists: Petar Strbac, Steve Traficonte, Joseph Wax, J. Felice Boucher, John Bald, Andrea Mabee, Fran Vita-Taylor and James Keller
