Maine Coast Sojourn Preview
September 17 - November 7, 2020
About The Show
This year is Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s 50th anniversary. In anticipation of celebrating that milestone, the Trust partnered with artist Timothy Wilson on an ambitious multi-year project during which Wilson will visit and paint at as many as 15 of the Trust’s preserves along Maine’s 3,478-mile coastline. The culmination of that project was to be an exhibition and celebration here at Cove Street Arts this fall. Then a global pandemic hit…
The full exhibition and celebration has been rescheduled to next fall. However, we did not want to let the Trust’s 50th anniversary year pass without some form of acknowledgement and thanks for its dedication to conserving Maine’s breathtaking coast. Therefore, we present a preview of next year’s exhibition Maine Coast Sojourn.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of work from this preview and the full exhibition in 2020 is being donated to Maine Coast Heritage Trust.
Maine Coast Heritage Trust is a statewide land conservation organization committed to protecting the character of Maine. Since 1970, Maine Coast Heritage Trust has helped conserve more than 150,000 acres in Maine, from the Isles of Shoals to Cobscook Bay, including more than 300 entire coastal islands.
