Gargantua & Lilliputian
Curated by David Wolfe
April 1 - May 15, 2021
About The Show
“Undoubtedly, philosophers are in the right when they tell us that nothing is great or little otherwise than by comparison.” - Jonathan Swift, Gulliver's Travels
Gargantua. Lilliputian. The words evoke faraway lands filled with amiable giants and tiny, fierce inhabitants conjured from childhood's imagination. Hence, their pairing forms a perfect title for this wildly creative printmaking exhibition curated by David Wolfe, featuring both the very large and the quite small.
Wolfe sought out printmakers working in unusual ways, combining artists from our small plot here in Maine with those from across the globe, to explore scale, content, and presentation. The result is a journey to where creativity and technique meet to create wonder.
