Jordan Carey
Jordan Carey ‘19 is a Bermudian designer and artist based in Portland, Maine. As a MECA&D student, Jordan's work was predominantly focused on the cultural aesthetics and influences present and changing in the African diaspora and island life. After graduating, Jordan continued to develop as assistant designer for the Maine-based fashion company Jill McGowan. In January 2020, Jordan launched Loquat, an independent fashion and accessories brand focused on empowering marginalized people. The Loquat flagship store and open manufacturing space opened on May 6th, 2022, in Portland’s Old Port.
