Parking Lot Tracks #3 (2021), Archival digital print, 14.5" x 9.5"

I have been photographing Maine for over 20 years. Moving up here from the South, I am attracted to the varied, natural beauty of Maine. I look for simplicity in landscapes: simple lines, shapes or vistas. I’m attracted to surface textures.

Old, worn buildings and barns present an image of a regressing object, transforming back down to the natural world. Often I see the sculptural shapes in rocks, old wharfs, tree stumps and other objects. I see the unique lines of a bare tree or tracks in the snow. I enjoy the stark landscapes that winter and snow offer.

I come to photography from a background as an Art Director for advertising agencies and design shops. I have directed many photo shoots for ads and brochures. I wrote and produced film shoots for television commercials here in Maine. I graduated from East Carolina University School of Art and Design. I am a member of the Photographic Society of America, Creatives Group of Portland, Maine and the Maine Union of Visual Artists.
