James Larson
Born and raised in rural New Hampshire, Jim Larson is a sculptor whose work synthesizes traditional craft with our contemporary, digital, cultural practice. His work objectifies our daily digital-to-physical, physical-to-digital translations, and works to present a more broadly accessible and engaging version of art presentation. Alongside his artistic practice, Jim regularly organizes public showings of artwork to provide exposure for young artists within their communities. These shows attempt to present work outside the influence of for-profit initiatives, and correspondingly they contain work that likely would not be shown in a for- profit setting. He is a graduate of Hamilton College and the Director New Hampshire’s Nashua International Sculpture Symposium.
