Alice Jones
Alice Jones lives in Portland, Maine and is a current artist in residence at the Gardenship at Kearny Point in Kearny, New Jersey. She is a co-director and co-founder of New System Exhibitions in Portland, a gallery dedicated to providing a space for emerging artists to exhibit their work and forge connections in the Maine art community. Through her background in ecology and time spent farming and raising goats, Alice has developed a relationship with her surrounding landscape. She examines this relationship in her oil painting practice in which she explores abstract forms derived from her real and imagined landscapes.
