The R.J. Miller Quintet performs with R.J. Miller, Ross Gallagher, Patrick Corrigan, Peter Herman, and Jake Lichter.
Drummer/composer R.J. Miller has assembled a stellar ensemble with longtime collaborators, Blue Hill native Ross Gallagher on bass; multi-instrumentalist Patrick Corrigan on a variety of plucked, bowed & struck instruments and two new additions to the group: the guitarist, Peter Herman and keyboard whiz, Jake Lichter of “Lunch Cult.” Mr. Miller has recently returned to his Brunswick hometown from Brooklyn, NY and Barcelona, Spain. He brings to the Maine music scene an enthusiasm, creative energy and his commitment to extending the range of possibilities of contemporary jazz into new and exhilarating, fertile sonic environments.
The internationally acclaimed R.J. Miller has performed and recorded with a wide array of jazz greats from established stars like Ben Street, Bill McHenry, Eric Revis, Tony Malaby, and George Garzone, to brilliant young pianists Aaron Parks & Albert Sand, saxophonists Jeremy Udden & Jeremy Viner, bass luminaries Thomas Morgan, Christ Van Voorst Van Beest and Kim Cass, and guitarist Ryan Blotnick.
