As part of our Women’s History Month programming, join us on Wednesday, March 30 at 6:30p.m., for Susan Webster’s artist talk and ROEWEAR Project event.
In light of recent devastating state-level attacks on women's healthcare and reproductive rights, and with Roe v. Wade in imminent danger of being overturned in what would be a stunning disregard for long-established legal precedent, Cove Street Arts is honored to host an event around Susan's Roewear Project. With Roeware, Susan has created an opportunity to, literally, wear your convictions on your sleeve, or your pant leg, or on any other body part of your choosing! It's a great way to participate in this urgent national conversation, to protest peacefully, and to show support and solidarity with the millions of women and adolescents girls whose lives will be negatively impacted, if not imperiled, by the Supreme Court's decision.
The ROEWEAR Art Project is a participatory wearable art project designed to help support reproductive healthcare and abortion justice. We invite you to bring in an article of your own clothing which Susan Webster will then print directly onto with her “DEFENDROE” design in bold block letters.
“ I want to collaborate with wearers, so we are both part of the process.” - Susan Webster
Price: $40 per item of clothing (40% of which is donated to Planned Parenthood in honor of the wearer)
